The new PEKK and PVDF filaments are designed for 3D printing of highly technical parts requiring extreme performance. Properties include resistance to high temperatures and harsh chemicals, and outstanding flame and smoke properties.

Arkema announces the expansion of the geographic distribution territory of Terra Firma for the Orgasol® and Rilsan® D products for coating additive applications, effective February 1, 2018. Terra Firma’s distribution territory will now extend from the mid-Atlantic to the southwestern US. The expansion includes the states of Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado.
Effective April 1st, 2018, or as existing contracts permit, Arkema is increasing by 6 to 9% the prices of its Kynar® fluoropolymer product ranges in Asia Pacific. This price increase is required due to ongoing increases in material costs, as well as the investments that Arkema continues to make in R&D, compliance, and capacity expansion to accompany its customers’ growth.
Arkema announces the expansion of the geographic distribution territory of Palmer Holland for the Orgasol® and Rilsan® D products for coating additive applications, effective February 1, 2018. Palmer Holland’s distribution territory will now extend from New England, across the northern US, to the west coast. The expansion includes the states of Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Utah, and Arizona. Accounts in the region currently serviced directly by Arkema will continue in the same manner.
To complement its major project in the bio-based polyamide 11, Arkema announces a 25% expansion in its global polyamide 12 polymers production capacities to support its customers’ strong demand in Asia.

Arkema Inc. will present its Kynar 500® FSF® and Kynar Aquatec® polyvinylidene fluoride resins used in high-performance coatings, along with Bostik’s hurricane-resistant adhesive products, at METALCON 2017, to be held October 18–21 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Arkema will increase fluoropolymer (Kynar® PVDF) capacity at its Calvert City plant in the United States by some 20%. The expansion is fueled by strong demand in the new energies and water management markets as well as in more traditional applications (chemical process industry and high performance cables). In line with the strategy presented at its recent Capital Markets Day, this investment, scheduled to start mid-2018, further supports Arkema’s ambition to accelerate the development of its advanced materials, one of the key pillars of its future growth.
Arkema’s Technical Polymers business has published new Guide Specifications on its field-applied
fluoropolymer coatings for cool roof and façade restoration applications. The two guide documents
are prepared according to the Construction Specifier Institute’s (CSI) SectionFormat® to make selection
and specification of high-performance Kynar Aquatec® PVDF emulsion–based architectural coatings
The new Neophil™ PVDF hollow fiber ultrafiltration membranes have been granted NSF/ANSI 61 certification for drinking water production. This certification will speed up the commercial development of this membrane technology developed jointly by Arkema and Polymem in the global drinking water market growing by 10 % yearly.
Eager to sustain its customers’ strong growth, in particular in automotive, 3D-printing, and in consumer goods markets such as sports and electronics, Arkema announces an investment plan of some 300 million euros over five years in the biosourced polyamide 11 chain. This major investment will enable the Group to increase by 50% its polyamide 11 global production capacities. The project falls in line with Arkema’s strategy to speed up its development in advanced materials, one of the key pillars of its future growth, sustained by a unique portfolio of innovations around the main sustainable development trends.
